Cockpit seats

Has anyone installed gas lifts on the cockpit seats. I just missed loosing a finger this past weekend when the starboard seat came down on me. I am done with them. I have put it off too long.
gas strut length or model or pictures will be appreciated.

I installed bits of shock cord and hooks to catch the lifelines, which is the least trouble-prone, cheapest and easiest solution. Do consider it!

Thats a great solution. I have been using a piece of broomstick for the time and still managed to knock it off. Bungee cord to the lifeline is a much better solution. Still would like some gas struts.
