Hi Jim. I have a strucural question. In order to install a generator/battery charger/watermaker unit on the pad behind the engine in my '81 H37c, I want to cut a hatch in the cockpit sole. It would be about 30"x36", and the cutout itself would be made into the hatch cover, installed on a perimeter shelf with 3/8" bolts on 6" centers. Would this compromise the strength of the deck unit? I might be able to squeeze the unit in through the lazarette, but I would have to stand on my head to perform routine service tasks, and would prefer the hatch. Thanks.
