Cockpit Floor Restoration Ideas

I am interested in hearing some ideas on how to clean up my cockpit floor on my 1983 Hunter 31. I have thought about attempting a wood floor, but what about paint or drydeck plastic? If I do a wood floor, what kind of wood might I use instead of teak which may be a bit pricey? Any ideas or past projects I can look up on this forum would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Greg W.

Greg,
why cover it? is it structurally sound?
I'm intending to re-LP mine... I mentioned that teak in the cockpit idea to a boat neighbor- he said they've got some amazing "fake" teak out there.. and he is *fastidious* about his boat. Probably similar to the pergos they are using in home flooring. He saw it at a boat show and was impressed. Might be worth checking out. I heard it gets yucky under the teak though, so- you'd probably have to lift it and clean it or something.
