The cockpit on my 1980 O'day 25 drains slowly thru the thru-hull. It looks to be about 1&1/2" round, turns 90 degrees then turns 90 degrees again then out. I would take a look under the floor but I am a big guy and can't fit. Is there a back wash valve in the chamber that might be stuck closed or is it open thru and just plugged up? Would someone smaller than myself be able to disconnect from underneath and clean it out? What tools would be needed? I have tried running the garden hose thru it but with no luck. On my O25 ..
there is just a plane stiff rubber hose about 8 to 12 in, long, which forms a shallow S-type curve when it changes elevation from the higher cockpit to the lower outboard discharge. I would not expect any type of valve in the hose. The hose should be a smoothe hose, not corrigated. And it does get clogged fairly easily. When my hose is clear of debris, water flows thru it very nicely. There should be hose bands keeping the hose ends on the thru-hulls. Maybe you can shoot water from inside the cockpit and/or into the outside thru-hull opening. (Both ways.) Happy clearing!! Tom

Thanks for your response. I have flushed it both ways and even used a power washer. What ever is plugging it up is very stuck! Your description of the area was much better than mine, I guess I will need to fit under the floor and take the thing apart. again, THANKS !
