Finally got my 26S home. The boat was full of sea water so I wet vacced that into the cockpit. Then I noted the cockpit was not draining. I stuck a wire up the hole from the outside. I got it all the way through, but still would not drain. I did note little bits of yellowed plastic on the ground. My question--did these boats have a check valve or something that may be stucK?
I finally wet vacced the cockpit....

OGS- You can check out the plumbing in the lazarette. Stock plumbing does not have a check valve. The line from the cockpit and the line from the motor well tee into the through-hull. If the plastic tubing is old, it may have crimped closed, or it may be stopped up with leaves or other trash. Stick a water hose in one opening with a rag packed around it and see if you can blast it clear. On my boat, I replaced the original plumbing with PVC pipe, with short sections of tubing to handle any relative motion between the tee and the rest of the plumbing. -Paul

Thanks guys. Mine looks like this except with black rubber hose. I have not had the boat in the water yet, thought perhaps the outlet was sometimes below water level. But now that I think about it, that wouldnt matter, would it? The water hose wouldnt work. Ill just try taking the hose apart and finding the plugged up secton. Thanks.
