I am getting ready to change my cockpit drain hoses on my 1985 28.5. The old hoses seem awful long and have a sag in them that traps water in them. I was wondering if the new ones need to be as long as the old ones.
I'd keep 'em as short as possible and use "smooth" inner diameter hose, not the "corrugated" looking ones. No reason for them to sag. Double-clamp both ends and make sure they overlap the male attachments enough to give a good seal.
