Cockpit drain hoses

I developed a leak somewhere this summer that when the harder the wind blew the more water in the bilge. No great amount, maybe a quart or 2. I also had slowly draining cockpit drains. and was unable to get a toilet snake thru them. Finally crawled below in the quarter berth and took some pics. The drain hoses are a clear rubber with some braid in them, looks like a pressure hose to me. The trouble is they pinch when bent which reduces them to about 50% or less in size.

I am assuming that these lines didn't come on the boat originally. Is there anything special I need to replace these other that drain hose from the like of West Marine? Also, should any type of sealer such a silicone be used as a sealer along with the hose clamps?

I also cut holes through the shelf under the rear seat in order to access the ends of the hoses, still have to cut the starboard side, broke all my blades cutting the port side.

Any advice as to the hose type etc?

I also included some pic's of the rudder post as there have been other posts about them in the past by others.

Trident series 148 hose available on this site. Sorry, I don't recall the size. If you use something else, make sure it's recommended for use below the waterline.

You should not need additional sealant with the hose clamps properly tightened.
