Does anyone have a replacement hose recommendation? I have the white corrigated hose there now and it looks like it should be replaced. I'm a little nervous about this type of hose even though it empties slightly above the waterline. Thanks, John

I just replaced mine

I just replaced mine this week (1987 Hunter 23'). My boat is in dry dock now so I was able to pull the hose off and take it with me to the hardware store without fear of filling the boat with water. I discovered I had a tear in it high up near the cockpit connection. I took the hose to Lowe's and when I asked for a replacement in the plumbing section I was sent to the swimming pool section. They have a hose of the same diameter and similar design that was available in 3 or 6 foot lengths. I purchased the 3' length which is a bit long but it fit snugly onto the connections. It snakes around a bit more but was a bargain at $1.97. I secured the hose with round clamps. Total cost was under $5.00.

Ace hardware

Ace Hardware has a tape that looks like black electric tape, but with a plastic backing. Since I never thought to go to the pool section (great idea), I got this stuff from Ace. I figured I would replace it often because it doesn't look durable. That was three years ago. It stretches and molds quite nicely to the corigated tube. And there's plenty in a roll to overlap a few times. A very clean, simple, and so far perminant fix. Mine leaked like a shower head. If you use this method, you still will want to remove the tube to do the job. Stretch, twist, and repeat.

Radiator Hose

Has anyone tried a radiator hose? They are shorter, stronger, and will probably last the life of the boat. I'm sure you can find one with a curve that will work as well as the right diameter.
