Can anyone help with suggestions as to which cockpit cushions are best for my 280. There are two different companies offering them here, but with drastic price differences. Also, What type of connection is best, snaps, clips, tie-downs,...any info or suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Didn't like ameriseams
I bought Ameriseams cushions and dodger for my 280 in 1996, by 1998 they were beat. I would not buy from them again. Also their dodger never fit the boat right. Bottomsiders has a great reputation, I's try them, they advertise in all the sail mags, and are att all the boat shows with discounts. Good Luck Bob Knott H380

My personal opinion
Not to be confused with an official opinion: I think the fabric cover on the Ameriseam makes them better for hot weather. Tyey don't stick to you. On the other hand, the BottomSiders are great for wet weather because they dry *really* easily, which the AS cushions don't. I suspect the BottomSiders last longer because the fabric will be slightly more prone to UV damage. Also, be aware that price differences are sometimes caused by configuration differences. ph.

Bottom Siders are the best of both worlds.
Phil: Based on your opinion, I would say that the Bottom Siders provide the best of both worlds. We purchased Bottom Siders for our H'31. We then made some terry cloth slip covers for them. We did this because of our dog. So if it is damp or raining, we can just remove the slip covers.

go with the foam
My (used) H-33 came with rigid foam cussions. They are holding up well I have seen the material in West marine catalogs. Mine are custom as they have some fancy stripes that are not necessary.

Believe it or not, the cushions available for the large Igloo coolers work perfectly on my 80-H27. Measure your seats and see the sizes available. The are well made of white vinyl with zippers and foam insides. The snap straps can be used or removed. They are comfortable and clean up easily. I have them 4 years and they still look new. Bets of all, they are considerably cheaper than the options.
