Can't find anything in the archives regarding cockpit cushion purchasing. I've seen the Bottomsider cushions and they are very nice. Anyone have another source they would recommend to compare for price, quality, etc.? Thanks, Carl

Check the mesh fabric cushions

...also in the chandlery. Typically less money, a bit better for warmer weather, but don't last as long. Also try C Cushions. A similar process to BottomSiders. We like the B's better, but check 'em out.

I like the mesh better

for the exact reason Phil stated. They are cooler and easier to sit on in hot weather. We installed about ten years ago and they have held up extremely well. We do not leave out when we are not at boat. We looked at closed cell but talked to others who said they get really hot and consequently are not comfortable to sit on.

Mesh

While I don't have full cockpit cushions, I recently purchased the mesh stern rail seat cushions from the chandlery here and have to say that I am very satisfied with them. The solid ones (bottomsiders) don't seem to offer much "cushion" to me. And I will be keeping these in the cabin when not in use just to keep them out of the elements... I think they should last me for many sailing seasons to come. Darren

Hot Tip

Try www.hksailmakers.com this is a china based sailmaker they also do sail covers, dodger replacement etc. They may do cushions too. I just got a quote for a main sail cover. The cheapest I found in US or Canada was $220.00. China was $88.00 and they use Sunbrella fabric.

C Cushions

I bought these at a boat show and am very happy with them, never had a problem with them getting very hot, and they are comfortable to sit on. We do stow them in the cabin when not in use. They are similar in style, price and quality to Bottomsiders. Go to ccushions.com or look in the classifieds in any sailing magazine.

Bottom Siders.

We have had the Bottom Siders for a few years. One advantage to the BS is when it is wet. They are very easy to clean too. We have a dog on board and she seem to always have muddy paws. The BS clean up easily with a little spray on cleaner and a rag. We made terry cloth covers out of bath towels that slip over them. This keeps them cool and the puppy tracks are not as obvious. We pull the covers off and throw them in the washer to clean.

Looks like C-cushions

After much research it looks like C-cushions is the way to go. I'll be calling on Monday for some samples and hope to have the cushions in 8 of 8-12 weeks delivery time. Thanks for all the replies.

C-Cushions

We got the C-Cushions for our 1978 Hunter 30 and love them. They FIT the cockpit perfectly and having the "captain's hump" makes for a very nice seat at the helm. This was an upgrade and well worth the extra cost (have the 8 inch hump).
