cockpit cushion modification idea

Although I have a C320, this question is for anyone who has a similar problem with any full-length cockpit cushion. Whenever I want to get access to the port cockpit locker, I must lift the cumbersome full-length cushion out of the way. I was thinking about cutting it in two. One part would fit exactly over the cockpit locker lid. I would use button snaps to attach the cushion to the locker lid. The cushion would stay in place when the lid is lifted. The stern seats already came like that from Catalina and work great. Has anyone tried a modification like this ?

Sounds like an interesting idea. I also have a C320 and I throw the cushion down below when I need to get into the port cockpit while underway.Johns/v Lady K

Cushion Solution

In theory your idea seems okay...but keep in mind that the when you open the lid, the thickness of the cushion will prevent it from being fully opened and scure.
