I am looking for a company that would make a waterproof cockpit cover for my 1960's 17 ft Oday daysailer sailboat. Please help! Also, does anyone have any experience with using a solar panel connected to a bilge-pump to have bailing as needed for one's cockpit? Just wondering if that kind of thing would work.
Thank you!

Can't help with the cover, but a small solar panel, deep cycle battery, and a small bilge pump with a float switch should work perfectly. The hardest item to get is probably the battery if you don't want one grossly oversized and expensive. I would look at replacement batteries for emergency lighting units for a 12v battery with about 20Ah capacity.

Welcome to the forum.

I have to say, rather than ask here for a cockpit cover, if you googled it you'd find the first hit is for an O'Day Daysailer cockpit cover, here:

The Sailors' Tailor Inc.

$370.

Geez!

For the bilge pump, I recommend a small LiFePo4 battery, and a small solar panel you can easily stow and deploy, and a small pump and switch combo.

For the cockpit cover, the folks here at SBO did a great job on a custom cover to my design for our h-27. I'd give them a call.

Add a small charge regulator to your solar bilge pump design or your battery won’t last very long
