I have a 1994 H26. I need to replace my cockpit backrest cushions. I pulled one off, and it appears to be a simple construction. Before I start asking for quotes from upholsterers, I was curious if these items are available commercially.

Cockpit cushions are available from the store on this site. I'm not sure what you mean by backrest cushions. Can you provide a photo?

Here is a photo. Sorry I don't have one showing the full cushion.

I assume all the boats came with this. The side wall of the cockpit has an indention for it. It runs almost the full length.

I would check with Bottomsiders or C-Cushion. They make that style of cushion and can probably make one for you. I owned a 96 H26 and talked to them at Strictly sail once about making a new set for me.

Those are great resources! Bottomsiders has them for $162 for the pair. Click on the link below and scroll down to Hunter 26. Lists them as backrest cushions. You can select color, pinstriping, etc.

C-Cushions did not list them specifically on their website, but I imagine they can make them up. I will call them for a price quote.

When I am ready to order, I will contact them first to find out how they are made. The ones I have are not original to the boat (multiple existing screw holes in the cockpit wall). One started dropping deteriorated backing board, so I pulled it off. The backing board was thin plywood (almost panelling), and the vinyl was attached by staple-gun staples. The backing board was completed rotted. The staples were rusted and stained the fiberglass.

Thanks so much for the help!
