Cockpit and Courtesy lights always on

This may be real easy to answer. I have just purchased my 2006 Beneteau 423 and I am still getting to know her even though she is not in the water yet.

The question I have is there is an LED cockpit light on the port side of the transom entry that is always on. The same is true for a couple of orange lights at foot level in the salon on both port and starboard. Even with all battery mains off and the DC panel off, these lights are always on. Please help me find my hidden switch?

Congratulations on your purchase you'll love the way it sails and handles weather. I have a 2006 as well that I purchased new.

The three lights are controlled by the keyfob only. There is no other switch. Two buttons on the keyfob one is an on/off and the other is a timed on/off. The receiver for the keyfob is located under the aft (port) bunk adjacent to the water tank and battery switches.

FYI there is a great 423 site on yahoo groups well over 400 members

Just took a pic of mine - here's what it looks like. FYI if you or the PO don't have it you can buy a replacement. I've seen them in the WM catalog I believe it's aqua signal but don't quote on that.

Thanks so much for the pic Captn TJ. I had no idea the boat even had one. I will check with the previous owners.

I have a 2008 43 and could not turn these courtesy lights on. I read your post and ordered a key fob from Beneteau but they will still not come on with the fob. Does it need to be programed?

The key fob needs to be reprogrammed. If it's the aqua signal model you can probably download instructions online.

I found the directions where you suggested on the aqua marine site. Maybe Beneteau should include them with the fob.

Hi ... always wondered about those lights. The remote was in chart table but had no idea what it was. Got lights, got remote but doesn't work. Can someone give me more detailed direction to where I can find instructions to try re-programming the remote. Thanks, JohnB40
