Clutch or Cam

I want to move my hallayards so that I can reach them from the pit. Should I use rope clutches or can I use cam cleats. Which is preferable?Thanks, Brian

Clutch, I'd say

I've only been on a handful or two of boats, but I don't recall ever seeing halyards go into cam cleats.Cam cleats would be very difficult to release under load after winching tight....RickM...

Clutch

Its hard to try and bleed tension out of a cam cleat, but a clutch is designed to do just that.
