Racing the 28.5
We've raced our deep keel 1986 28.5 in the northern Chesapeake Bay for many years in non spinnaker and cruising fleets with a PHRF rating of 174.We do very well, particularly in light air, because we wet sand a hard vinyl racing bottom paint; have a decent set of well cared for sails ; a 'head foil' system on the head stay and Martec folding prop.Years ago the Hunter dealer in Havre DeGrace, MD set up one of the first 28.5's for racing and was Northern Bay high point in class B.
