Last night the admiral and I went down to Jack London Square in Oakland CA to welcome the Gold Coast crew which is the first place boat in the Clipper around the world sailboat race. Last year San Francisco did not do a very good job of wecoming the boats and crews. There was a great crowd last night with a loud and friendly welcome. The rest of the fleet will be arriving over the weekend. I hope all the Bay area sailors that can will get out and wecome them as they come into San Francisco.
