Thanks to all for the advice on the cleat replacement. I was able to simply add the new cleat on the port side because access was relatively easy given a few acrobatic moves getting into the small bow compartment on the 260. I left the old port cleat intact and added the new cleat a few inches forward toward the bow. The starboard side was harder because the configuration of the bow roller platform prevented me from getting my hand up in there to install a backing plate like the port side. I drilled an access hole in the anchor locker bulkhead next to the existing hole for the starboard cleat. I installed a backing plate for one bolt and used the existing backing plate for the other bolt. The new cleats are huge, I know its overkill but my boat is on a mooring and I DO NOT want another boat on the rocks again.
