Sherry:I have never heard of such a thing. This is what they do on the expensive euro cars. I think Bob has a good idea.Try getting a couple of quarts of Amonnia and wash your boat with this (don't dilute it). It will probably remove most of the stuff. Then get yourself an IG (Island Girl) kit and fix the gelcoat. I just did the first phase (seaclow) of the IG and the gelcoat is now like silk. I plan on finishing this process on Sunday and will be doing the silknseal too.
Back in the early 90s they went to a new formulation for the gel coat which was supposed to be more UV resistant - could this be what you are interested in? Bet the folks at Hunter could fill you in with more details
