Cleaning the liner

I have a 2000 H320 that I am trying to keep in showroom condition while still sailing the heck out of it. I have run across a problem with dirt sticking to the liner in the cabin. I am referring to the smooth liner that makes up the settees, engine cover, etc NOT the fabric liner overhead. I guess it's made out of smoothly finished fiberglass. Anything that touches the liner stays there forever unless IMMEDIATELY wiped off. For instance, a mechanic left a dusty (not grease - just dust) footprint on the liner when he was bracing himself to do something or other. He's in bad luck if he robs a bank because I still have a perfect imprint of his boot for the cops to match up to his footprints! I have tried water, Fantastic, detergent, wiping, scrubbing - you name it! Nothing even makes a dent. It's as if the dirt has been absorbed right into the material. One last clue: I stomped a spider last year (very satisfying!) against the engine compartment. He is STILL there! I mean the whole squashed body! I've even tried a toothbrush. He has very clean teeth now but otherwise it had no effect. Any suggesitons on a cleaner that can get down into this mystery material without bleaching it out? Also, any ideas for sealing it to prevent dingy build up in the future? Thanks

That's one stubborn spider...

Not sure how to clean your spider (and other stains), but once you do, you may try putting on a coat of teflon polish. West Marine sells a bottle of this polish/wax stuff. Not really a wax, but adds a polish with teflon protection, might help prevent smaller particles to settle in. Not sure if you want to apply this stuff on 'floor' space, might create a very slippery surface...your spiders will begin skating lessons for exchange of dental hygene. Cheers, James

If the liner is fibreglass

Why not use the Island Girl cleaner, then the wipe on their wax, Simply Brilliant, that will put on a good finish that can be cleaned easily.

Mean Green

There is a product sold at Dollar General stores called Mean Green. It will disolve stains when sprayed on at full strength. Then wash the area afterwards.
