We have a bow holding tank that has been removed from the boat. We are looking for a way to clean the tank out completely. There is dried residue that is stuck to the sides of the tank and we can not reach it with a hose. Is there a place where we can take the tank to have it cleaned and have the waste properly disposed of? signed Stuck with this one! ps need to get the head finished next week! thanks

You can TRY...

But no guarantee it'll work...in fact, if there's sludge in the bottom that's turned to "concrete," it won't...and nothing will that isn't also likely to damage the tank. Fill the tank with water and at least a gallon of detergent...let it soak for a couple of days...flush out the tank. What you're left with is as clean as you're gonna get it. You can then fill it again with water and quart of bleach if you want to...but that won't get it any cleaner, it'll just bleach out dark stains. Regardless of how much success you have, I'd live it with it. Whatevef is left won't reduce the capacity enough to notice...and it'll just get dirty again the first time you use it.
