cleaning the fabric covers of cushions

Hi have a 2000 hunter h290 and trying to clean all the fabric covers. Manual says dry clean only but my local cleaner says with attatched thin foam layer they cannot dry clean. Does anyone have any suggestions other than putting in my own washer dryer?

I’ve used this on non-washable upholstery and works very well. I’d waterproof after washing.

When I first looked at cleaning my cushions I was told the same thing. Dry cleaning would dissolve the backing and that would be a fini. I was also told that they would have to be non-drycleaned ON THE FOAM or the shape of the cover would be lost, also a fini.

I now have all cushions on the boat cleaned by the pro carpet cleaner when they are in to clean the house carpets every other year. Cleaned on the foam cushion.

I used the local Stanley Steamer affiliate.
All clean, no smell, no problem with the foam 'innards'.

Another vote for this. We have one and it works great.

Steam cleaners are awesome. If you find a "broken" one for cheap, they can usually be "fixed" by running some vinegar through it. Ours had zero output. after 20 minutes of vinegar it started to show some promise. After an hour it was back to normal
