I recently cleaned my Perko sea strainer and there was a coating on the inside of the plastic (glass) wall that obstructed the view so much it was impossible to see what was on the inside. I tried the suggestions in these forums and elsewhere to no avail and was getting ready to scrub it with abrasives but I tried "scrubbing bubbles" before and it was amazing - after about 5 minutes primarily just washed off, although I needed to reapply in a few areas and use a cloth.
Thought I would pass this on as it worked so well.
Another tip with scrubbing bubbles - I use to clean many of the surfaces that I don't want to scratch such as in the head and galley - but the lid of the can and sometimes the bottom can rust - be careful not to leave the can on surfaces you don't want a rust ring on.
