Cleaning rug-like material on hull

Does anyone have an ideas or tricks for cleaning the rug-like material on interior part of the hull of my Hunter Cherubini 37C?

On my '79 H33 I just used a home carpet cleaner with a hand attachment. Worked great! Just don't get it TOO wet or you face mildew problems unless you can get it to dry pretty quickly.

Yes, regular home carpet cleaner. If you do not have a cleaning machine with a hand attachment you may use a spray bottle, a hand brush and a wet and dry vac.

On my '79 37C best bet was remove it and replace with 1/4" walnut panels. Couldn't get the smell and mildew out.
