My 8 yr old Zodiac (PVC) needs a really good scrubbing after the summer use. Does anyone have a "miracle" cleaning agent that will make things easier? I'm told that acetone works, but it may "set" some stains into the PVC. Thanks. Bob

Amazon

I use "Amazon Inflatable Boat Cleaner" .... good stuff just spray on, let soak then scrub a little then rinse. It works well on hypalon and PVC. Got it from Worst Marine.

Don't use acetone

While acetone will clean the pvc, it will also alter the surface so that it may become sticky and harder to clean in the future. I only use acetone under the area that I will apply registration stickers. I second the use of Amazon Inflatible Boat Cleaner. It was recommended by a Zodiac dealer to me.

Shout or Spray & Wash to clean inflatables

Try squirting Shout or Spray and Wash directly on the dirt. Scrub with a brush, then rinse. I used Shout on my Hypalon-reinforced fabric constructed, Achilles LT-4DX dinghy, to easily remove diesel soot. (Other brands of laundry spot remover might also do the job.)

Spray Nine

Try Spray Nine. It works the best in cleaning up the hypalon on my Achilles. Made the mistake of buying a white one, never again. It shows the dirt, collects mildew stains and is a bear to keep clean. Spray it and let it sit for a few minutes. Helps to scrub with a stiff brush and fresh water. It's also supposed to be bio-degradable so if your in or near the water you wont be killing off all the fish. Good luck.
