Around my YC (fresh water located) I never see anyone bothering to clean and polish their props. They are just left to grow old gracefully. I'd be interesting in hearing how others clean and polish their props. Thanks Kevin

Do it, here's why

I use a 1/4" drill with a rotating wire brush to grind off the season's drek. Not many barnacles, because in spring I apply four coats of Interlux 2000 base and two coats of Interlux Bottomkoat. They come off over time, but they last long enough to mitigate the damage. My diver also scrubs once a month. Upshot is that it's easier to clean and polish the prop, which in turn makes it easier to service. It's a Max-Prop. So do it.
