I have a 1990 Moorings 38. Lately my genoa furler has a significant amount of resistance. I changed all the bullet blocks and the furler line to no avail. I've been successful in lubricating the furler itself with Tri-Flow teflon spray and it works much easier now, but I wondered if there was a way to remove 17 years of accumulated gunk from the furler and then pack in some lubricant. Thanks! Mike Michael B. Shapiro mbshapir@bellsouth.net

What make of furler

is it? Some have sealed bearings (Profurl) some have open bearings (Harken). It depends on the type. Usually it has very little to do with the line or blocks. If it's a Beneteau with Profurl you might have to replace the bearings. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/beneteau393/ beneteau393 : Beneteau393 Group
