I have an '86 Oday 272 with a carpet type headliner. The headliner has some significant stains. Most appear to be water stains from past leaks (not leaking now). Any suggestions for cleaning the stains? I do have a Bissel steam cleaner with a hand attachment. What cleaner should I use that won't cause the headliner to detach from the boat? And is it safe to use the steam cleaner? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I had good success with clorox cleanup
Some of my carpeting was stained and mildewed. I used a bissel steam cleaner with water instead of detergent, spraying the stains with clorox cleanup and rinsing with the water. Didn't get the stains out 100% but it made a big difference. The bleach in the cleaner did not affect the color of the carpet. Your results may vary, you would want to try an inconspicuous spot first... Manny
