HUNTER 450 PASSAGE WHITBY
Hi Everyone

I purchased a Hunter 2000 450cc last year and was wondering what product I should use to clean and either protect or refinish the interior teak and what looks to be plywood with a wood or plastic laminate finish on the doors and wall panels for the cabinets and doors separating the different cabins and heads? I also am considering refinishing the cabin sole and was wondering how to remove any scratches or small dents on the existing Holly sole? I've heard of a product called Ultimate sole for refinishing the sole, does anyone have experience with this and where is it available in the Toronto area?

Thanks

You can take the dents out of the sole by removing the finish and placing a wet towel over the dent and then place a hot iron over the towel. This appears to work because the moisture will turn to an expanding vapor and raise the dent back to it original location. I have done this many times and it works well. Be careful how long you leave the iron on the towel go slow and try many attempts.

Dancer,
On my 2000, 420, Hunter used Daly's SeaFin Teak oil on all the interior teak. http://www.dalyspaint.com/catalog_seafin.html and I have used it eversince I bought the boat in 2001. It is easy to work with and keeps the finish looking good. I would think Hunter used the same on your 2000 450
Good luck.
