I am looking at a Mac 26 with water balast. Do racing rules for this class make you use a full water balast or none at all. Also boat being considered has J boat rudder. Is this legal according to class rules?
all the races I've entered rate the boat by, length at waterline and sail area. Maybe because a rudder adds no speed. (although I can maintain hull speed longer with a modified rudder, to a point) I've never been asked if the tank was empty or full. I never sail my mac/d empty. Even motoring to a sailing area I fill it up. the ride is better, imo.
