Some weeks ago, I posted about Matt Rutherford, an intrepid sailor who is now nearing the completion of his circumnavigation of the Americas in his aged good old Vega 27. Matt is now about 500-600 miles from Annapolis and a gathering -- on land and in the water -- is planned to celebrate his anticipated arrival on or about April 21t. If you are a Chesapeake Bay sailor, try to head out to Thomas Pt on April 21st to welcome Matt home....

Why do special events happen on weekends where I am busy!?!?!?!

This sounds pretty cool.

A few years back Maryland had a huge 300th anniversary. They brought tall ships to St. Mary's City in MD and had reenactments on the land. It was a very cool festival. I wish they would do things like this more often closer to where I live. It made for an awesome three day weekend!
