Cigarette Lighter Plug Wiring

I wish to power a DC TV with a cigarette lighter plug which came with the TV. My plan is to strip off the plug and wire it directly to a fuse block. Is the wire which goes down the center of the plug to the tip the positive wire and the wire which goes to the side prong the ground or negative. I believe this is correct, but wanted to check with all of the master minds on this board first. Is there any problem with wiring directly to the fuse block?

pos is the center pin.
I'd suggest you not run it directly to a fuse block but through a dedicated fuse or breaker to the panel as most all flat panel TVs typically used on board are highly succeptible to voltage spike damage

Yes you are correct but why limit the use of the TV

to one location? Why don't you just hardwire a socket and install it close to the location where you want the TV. You could also run fans and cell phone chargers.

DC Wire

There is a dedicated breaker for this fuse block. My stereo is also wired from this fuse block. Only one will likely be on at one time. I like the idea of hard wiring a sockett, but unsure whether I have a spot for mounting. I will have to think a bit about that possibility. I already have a sockett in another location not close to the TV to use for other items.
