Yamaha Cicada Cleveland
I'm looking for details on the Cicada mast. I'm in the US, probably the only one in the US, and the mast was destroyed when a storm blew another boat into it. I need a replacement. Are there any available in the US, or does anyone have any substitutions that may work?
Thanks!

Are you sure it is not a 'Cicala'?
http://www.jibslist.com/Specificati...CICALA III&design_id=0&frompage=BoatList.aspx

If your boat is 13' 5" in length then this is likely your boat.
I'm not sure how long your mast is supposed to be but I'd start looking for a mast from a similar sized boat, like a Blue Jay, Snipe, Laser or whatever boat has a mast length closest to what you had before.
Good luck.
Thanks for the link. Based upon the measurements this is the same boat. I think that website made a typo when they entered it into their database, as it definitely has a cicada for an insignia on the sail. I may try to find a maker of the extrusion of the 420 and get the length I need of it and use the parts from the old mast. I will have to replace parts that were damaged, but I should be able to use 420 parts & alter them if needed. If you, or anyone else, has any idea who makes the 420 extrusion, I would appreciate their name and info.

Thanks!

Yamaha Seahopper - Cicala- etc... Mt Fuji
Hello, I live in Japan and own the Yamaha SeaHopper2 and the Cicala which is the poor spelling for hte CIDADA or Semi as the Japanese call them. All of the Yamaha Asailing Dinghys are out of production and any parts can be obtained through okumora boat company. although recently doue to the tech advances in sailing a lot of other brands are replacing the sschool houses and private owners of the Yamaha branded dinghys. here is the Specs for the cicala.

YAMAHA 13 Cicala

I dont have a manual for it but Im sure ill come across one as i just bought one of these used and should have it delivered here in a couple days. I would imagine a 420 Main Mast would be a good fit for this as imthinking of converting mine.

Do you still have the boat registration and spec plate on it?

Cheers ,

Glenn
