Choice of fasteners

I want to attach 5 inch round bronze strainers over three 1-1/4 thru hulls. The bronze strainers have 3/16 inch holes, counter sunk, around the periphery. I was hoping to find 3/16 bronze screws to attach the strainers to the hull. I was planning to thru bolt them. The trouble is is that I cant find 3/16 machine screws in bronze. I usually buy my bronze screws from steelmarinefasteners but they didn't have them, making my think if they aren't in demand then I might not be taking the wrong approach. What do ya'll think?

If I remember right, 3/16" translates to a #12 screw. Perhaps looking it up that way may yield better results.

you should be looking for silicon bronze BUT i sure dont care for the external units

Please consider the OPENING external strainers!!! I blew out two army battalions of barnacles yesterday with a pressure washer of another members boat.... Not easy to get them out of there even with 2600 PSI..

Thanks Capejt for the translation. It's too bad steelmarinefastners doesn't sell anything less than 1/4-20. I guess I will have to google around. Ya'll deepened my conviction about not using ss. (I always wondered why the ss ball valves in bronze seacocks look shiny after so many years. Is it because ss is more noble than bronze?)

Main Sail, yes, I remember your admonishins from one of your posts--good advice. I found it interesting that my 1980 boat never had a strainer. In the 3 years I've had it it never was a problem; however, my 3/4 thru hul lfor the AC clogged. I upped the 3/4 thru hull and seacock to 1-1/4 inch.
