Has anyone removed and replaced the aluminum extrusion track that holds the rubber rub molding on an "82 or so model Catalina 30? Mine is baddly chipped from previous owner who rafted one to many times in rough waters, or rode chain damaged during stern anchoring. Is it rivited, screwed, costly...???

This is going to be a project for us this year

on our '85 C30. The aluminum extrusion not only holds your rub rail but also covers the hull/deck joint. It is screwed into the deck about every six inches with machine screws and also goo'ed in place with 5200. Catalina Direct can supply you with the new extrusion and rub rail. Due to shipping restrictions, they can only ship it in maximum 8'lengths. Have fun!
