Well, made it back from the Chicago Strictly Sail show and there were a couple of highlights. 1. Got to meet Bly, she is nicer (if that is possible) in person than when you talk to her on the phone or via email. A big surprise to run into her, only problem was that I didn't get to spend too much time talking with her (had to get back to the airport) 2. Got to finally see the 320, it is better looking in real life than the brochure/pictures show. Putting in my order today, hopefully the boat will be in the water in April. Hey Bruce: Anyone that can spend $80k on a boat, complaining about $4.50 for a beer<haha>. That really is a rip off isn't it, and Bud to boot I'd bet. Congrats on the new toy. What is the price range for the base boat? What are they including during the show? Looks like a screamer with 550 sq ft of sail and only 8600 lbs. We will need progress reports on the commissioning and the sailing capabilites of her too.

Oh my God I just spent how much? or I think I got a good deal or A fool and his money... Actually I am going to recycle Neon Moon, I will remove the name off of the old boat (funny how quick you can think of it as the old boat). As for the beer, it was miller lite (what else). The base price for the boat quoted in Chicago/Dalls was 71,500. Ordered the boat about 3 hours ago. I didn't add much to the boat other than upgrading the port side jib winch to a 2 speed, a dripless stuffing box, bimini, deep keel, travler on the arch and an aluminum boom vang. I will be buying the cockpit cushions online (after Bly gets me the pricing). So the new Neon Moon will be a pretty standard lake sailer. The boat should arrive around the end of March and be in the water in April (note the lack of definate dates) I plan on taking some time off to assist with the commissioning and to take pictures etc. (My dealer said he would only charge me $50.00 an hour for any work that I did ) Jay, when the boat hits the water, I will be in touch. Bruce: Just think of it this way. You will soon be the proud owner of a new H'320. You really do not need to go to anymore boat shows. The money you will save by not drinking beer at the shows equates to 15889 beers (excluding the sales tax). I think I'll drink to that.

Not drinking those as well as the 2000 or so for options/Taxes/commissioning, sure will save....oops, just got sick Now if we amortize that over the next 10 years of boat shows, I would only have to drink around 1788.9 beers per year/show. Think of the savings to my wardrobe/liver/tylenol bills. I think I came out ahead on that deal. Regards. Bruce.

Last year at that same show, I bought the H310 that was their and after looking at the 320, I see the same boat in the "fine tune" mode. You are gonna love your new boat and she will fly!!! Quit crying, I had the Heinekin at $4.75 but the good news for me is: wife and I decided our 29.5 is simply perfect and to not buy a new boat!! Now with the money I saved I can drink imports and never feel guilty. BTW ... Nobody at Hunter gave me tickets, I had to buy them.

I got there first thing on Thursday, they were still cleaning the boats and setting up. Gary hadn't made it down to the ticket office, so I had to buy my own ticket (big deal, it was only 2 beers + tip) Had a chance to spend some time with him, nice guy. Regards. Bruce. Neon Moon

Gary seems to be a nice enough mate, after all, he got me tickets to the show. He told me that he still needs to get more familiar with the Hunter products and was unable to answer most of my questions with my new H310. I also wanna thank the main man, (Greg Emerson) from Hunter customer suport for getting me the tickets with a short notice after I said that I would not be at the show. Greg has come through in more than one way for me. I did not buy any beer cuz I am saving for a new boat, Mark from Riverside Marine says He might be able to get me into a H450 with a 4ft. draft. The 320 was great, the 290 was awsome,and the 460 was big!!! The show was fun and infromative. Hope to see some of you next year. Steve, s/v Odyssey...

Yes I am a wonderful fellow (my mother concures) but I must have had an extra Heinie as I don't remember any of you fellers. PS: I did kind of fall for the 380, and am trying to talk myself out of ordering one just a-cause the area I sail on simply does not warrant one. The 290, 320 and the 340 all were just so similar to my 29.5 I could not justify them but, baby oh baby the 380 made my putter patter. My belly button is still puckering and unpuckering as I wonder if a bigger slip is available!
