There was a discussion last summer about launch ramps in the Chicago area, with one person pointing out there a map search showed none on the Chicago coast, only north or south of it.
I hear on the radio every day now (April) about traffic downtown having to watch out for raised bridges. Apparently the boats launch on ramps on the various Chicago rivera and sail down to their slips along Lake Michigan.
So both the "no ramps on the Chicago waterfront" and the "there gotta be - so many boats" were correct.
