I'm sitting here in a Chicago hotel freezing my FL Keys acclimated ass off. Actually I was recently assigned some customer accounts up here and this is my first visit. Would like to make contact with some HOW'ers up here so I'll know someone other than just my customer contacts.

Chicago

Bill: Welcome to our world!!! We've been shut up way too long and need to get those boats out. We bought a new Hunter 320 last year and keep it in Monroe Harbor. You can contact me thru this website by e-mail. We plan on bringing her down about the middle of May. Earliest we can get into the Harbors is May 15th.

It's better in the summer

Our bad winters make the summers sooo nice by comparison. Kinda like your first solid food after you've had surgery. With due respect to Bob, you can put a boat into the Chicago harbors as early as April 15 - there's an additional (small) fee. But unless you're (winter) stored indoors there's no way it's warm enough in March or early April to get her ready for launch. Be happy to show you the Chicago skyline from my 336. Let me know when (you buy the food and drinks).

Lake Michigan Hunter Sailing Association

Winter just means you don't have to take up precious refer space to keep your beer cold. We have a very active Hunter Sailing Association here on Lake Michigan (LMHSA). We have members from the Michigan (Eastern) shore, in several Chicago harbors and up to Racine, WI. You're welcome to join us at our Spring Meeting (Sunday April 29, 11:30 AM) Waukegan Yacht Club to meet some members. Big event is the Summer Rendezvous - this year in North Point Marina, Zion, IL, July 20 - 22. e-mail me for more info (prains@us.ibm.com)
