Chesapeake Bay water temps

Does anyone have a link/site that provides current water temps for the CB?

I checked out the NOAA site but really didn't find anything.

You need to look for Bouy Data, here's one showing 42 degrees. The Chesapeake has two temps: Warmer than Maine, colder than Florida.

Here is the Thomas Point Light House, in the bay, just south of Annapolis and where the Severn River hits the bay. The weather is updated hourly, usually posted around 10 minutes after the hour. CLick on a triangle icons and you get recent reading. Particularly interesting is the wind/air pressure graph. You can click on other stations on the bay from thaat site.

Thanks. 41 degrees is getting down there. I have a reverse-cycle unit on the boat that can produce heat down to about 40 degrees. I will need to winterize it somewhere between 40 degrees and 32 degrees.

It's significant where in the bay you are. For instance if you are in the northern bay that is fed by the Susquehanna river coming out of PA you may be at 38 degrees F. If you are down south where the bay meets the Atlantic you may be at 45.

Not all buoys have water data and keep in mind the depth at which they do read it. Some may be 10m down.

NOAA provides an app for their yellow data buoys in the bay and tribs. Ches Bay Interpretive Buoy System (CRIBS). Currently 43.61 on Gooses Reef (off Little Chop), and 42.01 off the Severn. 38.57 up at the Susquehanna flats. Lots of whether and water qual info on Cribs. You boys up the Potomac have one at Jones Point.

I use NOAA NATIONAL BUOY DATA Center at http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=YKRV2 this is my link to York River. You can scroll to buoys all over and lots of them keep temps along with wind data
