I found out about the Chesapeake Bay Hunter Rendezvous on this website.
Sherry and I decided to make the 10-hour drive down from Canada to attend. We just bought a 356 in Florida this past winter and we wanted to meet other owners and see more of this premier sailing area.
We are so happy we decided to make the trip. From the moment we arrived, even though we did not know anyone, we were made to feel like long lost friends from Canada. The Rendezvous itself was impeccably organized, the food was great and the venue was beautiful and well suited to the event. The speakers were both well informed and entertaining. There were lots of super door prizes. We even won one or two -- and we never win anything!
Over the weekend we enjoyed talking about sailing, maintenance, rigging, sails, anchors, food, voyaging and a many other topics. We were able to work in some time exploring Annapolis, which we enjoyed very much. Next time we would like to explore the Bay.
We left with some new friends and lots of great memories.
We would like to commend the organizing committee for making the weekend so successful and making our trip to Annapolis so worthwhile. We look forward to the next one!
