I have three different guides to cruising the Chesapeake. I forget the exact names and authors (the books are on the boat right now). I think one is by Shellenberger (Gunkholers Guide?), one is by Neal (blue cover, kind of plain, but packed with info), and one is from the folks who publish Chesapeake Bay Magazine. The thing they seem to be weak on is telling where the dinghy docks are located. I often like to aqnchor out, but like to go to town. Perhaps they aren't listed because there is often no "public" access to shore by dinghy. Some towns are pretty friendly in this manner (Annapolis, Havre de Gras, and St. Michaels all have public dinghy docks that I had no trouble finding because they are listed in the books). Other places there was no obvious access to land, except at bars or restaurants for customers.Do most marinas frown on folks coming in to town via their property by dinghy? Is there a better source of info for places to land a dinghy than the books I already have?Pete
