Chesapeake Bay CNG Locations

I have recently purchased a 1994 H40.5 equiped with a CNG stove. Long term I plan to keep the boat in the Chesapeake Bay area. Does anyone know of locationson the Bay where I can get CNG?Thanks,Bill Joness/v Bardi Sea

CNG...hard to find!

Hey Bill, i also have a 40.5 in south Texas with CNG. it's tough to find, start with your local natural gas company. after about 15 phone calls, that's where i had my refilled. if anyone mentions a web site, ...i've tried that and it's pretty much useless. it's mainly for vehicles, and those places are'nt set up for our bottles. good luck. CNG a the airport of all places.....

We recently went thru finding a place to refill our CNG for the first time. After a website that was pretty useless (sounds like the same one), we ended up talking to a guy at AVSG, which is a local gas company with a location at Logan Airport. He actually came to the marina, picked up the tank, filled it, brought it back, and charged us only $25. I have no clue if the major aiport near you will have a gas company around that supplies various needs. AVSG isn't in business becuase of the demand that a few local Hunter owners with CNG stoves create, however, they can fill our tanks. Once you find the CNG, you can relax and know that with only minimal opening and closing of the hatch, you aren't gonna blow your boat apart because of a small leak. It's worth the effort I think. Four locations....

Bill,These are the three locations I know off the top of my head:Already mentioned - Zahniser's Marina in Solomons Island, Patuxent River.Tidewater Marina, Havre de Grace, MDHaven Harbor Marina, Swan Creek, Rock Hall, MDI've used all three. Prices are generally in the range of $30-35 for a tank exchange. They will insist that your tank is in good condition.
