I own a 1977 30' Hunter sailboat. How would I know if it is Cherebini designed? Or are all boats from that year Cherebini? I'm looking to sell this boat and trying to get an idea of fair pricing. Any help would be appreciated!

It's a Cherubini design. Pricing will depend on condition and how well equipped . Anywhere from free to $15k....maybe more.

Hunter 1978 H30 Cherubini, Treman Marina, Ithaca, NY
Hello CO, yes I totally concur with Kito. I purchased my 1978 H30C (the C represents Cherubini designed craft) in November 2015 from a relative of my daughter-in-law for the ridiculously low price of $6K. It is in great shape overall with a just a few previous owner modifications. There are clearly a few changes and upgrades that I will be making before launch in May. There are two other local Craigslist adds with the H30's advertised one is identically designed to Kito's '79, and the other is a 1980. I met the 1980 owner, as his boat is cradled right next to mine in Ithaca, NY. He's asking $12,900 for the 1980, and the boat is also in very good shape. Best of Luck selling your H30. ;)

I've attached a Link to the 1980 H30 for sale: https://ithaca.craigslist.org/boa/5510354778.html

If I were you I would look around the marina for someone that knows about sailboats and ask for their advice. Apparently you just got this boat yourself and now trying to sell it.

Connie has been a member of this forum since 2004 with two messages, probably one when the boat was purchased and now when getting ready to sell it.

Thanks again. I've owned the boat for over 10 years but only used it as a day sailor, not to its full capacity. I really need something smaller that doesn't draw as much. I can't get it out of my canal half of the year due to water levels.

So I guess you have kept it well maintained then. If you haven't put in a lot of high dollar equipment then maybe start at the price you paid for it and go from there. These older boat values have pretty much bottomed out. It is only worth what someone is willing to pay anyway. Btw, how is the I-beam in the bilge that supports the compression post? Mine was rusted out. Any leaks or spongy spots on the deck?

There is some rust, but not rusted out. No soft spots or leaks...and no smells! Bought the boat from a marine mechanic and everything was perfect. Haven't added anything extra to the boat, just maintenance.

Connie, I have the same year Hunter Cherubini. Have had her for 19 yrs. Many miles under her hull. New engine, new AC/DC wiring and panel, new sails, rigging, slip fees, bottom jobs, etc. You get the picture. It will be heartbreaking when the time comes to sell her. If all you have in her is regular maintenance over the years and you can get what you paid for her, consider yourself ahead of the game. IMHO.
BTW, have spent a lot of time sailing the Keys, mostly the mid to lower Keys. Spent a month sailing from Lower Mat to Key Largo and back several times last Aug. Loved it. :)

Diana of Burlington can answer on the Cherebini design as his father was the designer. Also if you know any broker pretty well, there are a couple of major listing outfits that require the broker to advise what the boats sold for but not for public view.
