hold the zinc onto the side of the engine with the water running through it. The zinc itself is held by a single bolt onto this plate. The zinc will come out with this entire plate. Try PT blaster on the bolts. It is available at all auto stores.
I have a 1979 Hunter 30' with a YSM12 engine.I have tried off and on for three years at the beginning of the season to pull and replace the enging zinc. I have soaked with oil and used a large bar with socket and have yet to budge the bolt. I am afraid to use any more force on it than I have applied. I now place two zincs on the shaft and hope for the best. Please post news if you can get yours out.Good luck.Ians/v Meant to Be
