I stripped and Cetol'ed my swim ladder steps on my H27 (new ladder had wooden steps--MUCH easier on the feet). To ensure a nonskid finish, and having misplaced the silica I used on the deck paint, I sifted some playbox sand. Then dried it in the oven on a cookie sheet at about 150 deg. F (don't tell my wife!). Right after applying the second coat of Cetol, I liberally sprinkled the sand on the steps and let the whole thing dry. After drying, sweep the excess off, and voila!, homemade non-skid.
