I'm interested in chartering a sailboat over the weekend after 4th of July. I've checked with a couple of charter companies and there are mostly 35+ footers available, but I'm more interested in something in the 30 class. Several years ago a former co-worker had rented a boat out of Oxford for the weekend Does anyone know someone who does this. Can you suggest a charter company? How do you find someone who wants to rent out their boat? Mark

Just found a similar charter

Here in the PS, of course, by checking the classified ads in our local sailing rag, 48 Degrees North. I found a guy with a very clean 34 in my local marina who offers it for charter.

Have you tried BaySail

BaySail is at Tidewater Marina in Havre de Grace. While most of their charter fleet is 32' and over, I believe they also have a Hunter 26. Their website is www.baysail.net.

Look for Chesapeake rags

Phil: The only Ches. Bay sailing magazine of that sort that I've seen is Spinsheet. However, they didnt have any ads for charters like this. Anyone know of other Bay publications that might have ads for charters? Mark

Norton's Yacht Sales in Deltaville Virginia (Just off the entrance to the Rappahanock) also has a charter service. I know they have several sailboats but don't know prices or availability. You might want to give them a call (804-776-9211) or check their website (check the link to Norton's on this site)
