Charter Companies in the Grenadines

When I last sailed the Grenadines a few years ago I used Horizon out of Grenada and had a great experience. I am planning a trip for this winter and was wondering about other options. TMM, Moorings and Footloose have bases there and I am sure others. Barefoot in St Vincent is an option (although I have heard mixed reviews on Barefoot). Any one have opinions? (dumb question) I mean any one have opinions they would like to share?

I've chartered twice with Sunsail, once out of St. Lucia, and once from St. Vincent.

We used Barefoot last year for a 10 day holiday. 38 ft Lagoon catamaran.
On a scale of 10 I would give them a 7.5.
Boat was good but needed a bit of TLC. Chartplotter did not work, they did not seem to care. Autopilot would only work sometimes. We called them about it ifrom Canouan they were to have a local rep show up at the boat 10 the next day, we waited till 11 then left.
None of this ruined the trip, its just they advertise the boat with all these options.
On the positive side, they have a couple of nice rooms right on site, and the staff were really good. We asked for some fishing poles and they were more than happy to find us some.
I would use them again.

We went with Moorings in Canouan a few years back and were very pleased. We paid for one of their better condition boats and it was, well Brand NEW. We had them do partial provisioning for us and would recommend that also as there is not much of a market for provisioning in Canouan, and the food provided was of quite generous quantity, it also included a wide variety of condiments that lasted the whole trip and then some.

Sun Sail owns The Moorings. St. Vincent is a good place to start. There is a new immigration clearance system that will let you go anywhere between St. Vincent and Grenada without clearing in and out. Choose a company that has one way charters unless you really want to double back.

Tell me more about the new immigration process that sounds great. The only reason I am considering not returning to Horizon in Grenada is the problems we had checking in and out between Grenada and The Grenadines. If that is eliminated it make my decision easy.
