On my 1986 C22 the motor is mounted on the port side and the battery compartment is aft on the starboard side. The motor has a charging cable which we could attach to the battery. However, I can not see a good way to run the wire. I would like to know how some of you have run the wire from the motor to the battery. Thanks, Peter Au Contraire 13325

Peter, I ran my cable from the motor down thru the vent ,along the port hull/deck joint to the bulkhead, turned toward starboard and fished it thru any gap I could find that leads to the battery. Pretty straightforward Works fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Hope this helps.

quick fix

peter I just put a new honda 9.9 4 stroke on last weekend and I was in a hurry to sail so I ran it thru the transom hole and drilled a hole in the cockpit to access the battery compartment and the cable just barely reached the battery straight across the compartment. I know I need to make more permanent routing of the cable but that also means lengthening it as well. I will then go thru the port vent down and across the transom to the battery compartment jim
