I am about to change out some very ratty halyards on my 28.5. Thanks to old postings, I have a good plan of attack on the main halyard. The jib halyard, however is a puzzle. I have a ProFurl II furling system and no manual. How can I cleanly and simply lower the genoa and replace the halyard? Any advice would be much appreciated.

That's EZ

Lower the sail down with the exsisting old halyard. Cut off what ever kind of shackle is on the end. Then use some heavy thread to sew the end of the new halyard to the old one. Some folks try this with tape and regret it. A few stitches with good thread makes this a no brainer. Just pull the new one through. good luck! Barry s/v "PER DIEM too"
