changing the engine impeller

does anybody know how to get at the engine impeller , does the stairs at front come away to make it easy or does it have to be done by feel:

if yours is H36, my guess is you have Yanmar 3GM30F. If yes, take the stairs off. You may need to remove the seawater pump as its very likely the cover is on the other side hence very difficult to open if pump not removed.

...Ask the guy in the next slip. Sometimes it's easier when someone shows you the process. Takes a few minutes, he would be flattered to be asked. At least, I would be.
